From Cell to Silver Screen π₯
Hi thereee π Welcome back to this week’s blog! π«
This week, our assignment in our class was to write a film review. A film review is something where you analyze and describe a film. Our task was to evaluate a film and prepare this writing to be published in a university magazine. Frankly, we had several options, but we chose this topic because both my peer, who is Zeynep, and I enjoy watching films a lot. In our daily lives, we often recommend or discuss the films we watch with each other, so this topic seemed most suitable for us.
Now let me talk a bit about the preparation. We aimed to select a film that not many people know about because if we chose a clichΓ© film, our review might not have been very meaningful.
A scene from the movie
The name of our film is "Papillon." It tells the story of an wrongfully convicted thief. What impressed me the most is that the story is entirely based on a true events. Since we were going to write the review together, we preferred to watch the film together so that we could make comments and take notes while watching. Later, we used Google Docs to write our article remotely. Honestly, Google Docs is quite useful for collaborative tasks, but it has one downside: I can't say it's very aesthetic in terms of design and layout. Perhaps if we had used another application, we could have done more creative things, but I still think we produced a text that appeals to both the reader and the eye.
